Cologne Attractions

The Cologne cathedral dominates the skyline of Cologne and is one of Germany’s famous landmarks. At a height of 157.38m (northern tower), it is Cologne’s second-tallest structure, surpassed only by the telecommunications tower. The construction of this Gothic masterpiece begun and 1248 and was completed only in 1880. It became a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1996.

It is opened daily from 6am to 7.30 pm (Nov to Apr) and from 6am to 9pm (May to October)

Tower Climb

Visitors can climb (around 500 steps) to the top of the tower, the admission charges are

Adult €4 and child €2

The entrance of the tower is outside the cathedral, on the right handside of the main entrance.

The Treasure Chamber

Adult €6 and child €3

Combined entrance fee for Treasure Chamber and Tower :

Adult €8 and child €4

Getting there : The Cologne Cathedral is situated right next to the central railway station (Hbf) and cannot be missed due to its height.

At the other end of the Hohenzollern Bridge is the Koln Triangle Building where for a fee of  €3, you can take a lift to the top to get a panoramic view of the city.
